United have made it six points from the Bank Holiday weekend after a 2-1 victory at AFC
Uckfield Town on Monday morning.
First half goals from Kane Penn and Scott Taylor sealed the victory for United at The Oaks.
Having played less than 48 hours previously, there were two changes to the side that started
against Crawley Down Gatwick, with Charlie Playford making his first start of the season in
the place of Tyler O'Callaghan while Saturday's matchwinner Lucas Mann replaced Peter
Despite the unusually hot bank holiday weather, United began the game at a fast pace and
with the game only seven minutes old, United took the lead when Penn struck his second
goal of the season.
There was a lengthy stoppage during the first half as United captain Adam Davidson
suffered a head injury that required for an ambulance to be called - thankfully there was no
serious injury and he was able to walk to the ambulance.
Ashley Jarvis dropped back into defence to replace Davidson, with Danny Andrews coming
on to replace the fallen skipper.
Following the stoppage, United carried on where they left off and doubled there lead as
Taylor struck his first goal in a United shirt against his former side.
Former United winger Bailo Camara was introduced at half time by Uckfield in an attempt to
pull a goal back, but it was player/manager Anthony Storey who would half the deficit as he
beat Phil Hawkins from the penalty spot.
It proved to be too little though as United made it a successful Bank Holiday weekend
