There was nothing to separate the sides as Eastbourne United and Saltdean United played out a 0-0 draw at The Oval
Despite the lack of goals, the match didn't want for action with a highly competitive fixture played out between the two sides.
From the midweek defeat to Hassocks, there were two changes to the United starting XI as Ryan Paul returned, while Callum Hart made his first start of the season.
Clear cut chances were hard to come by for either side, but United's best chance in the opening 45 minutes came as an angled deep cross was met by the head of Kane Penn, but visiting 'keeper Rikki Banks tipped his effort onto the upright and out for a corner.
At the other end, Phil Hawkins only action of note was to pick himself up after being poleaxed when attempting to claim from a Saltdean corner.
Ollie Sotoyinbo continued to look a threat down the left wing as he used his pace to leave Scott Marshall in his wake, but he couldn't quite make an opening for a strike at goal, while on the other side Scott Taylor saw an effort sail over the goal.
Saltdean saw calls for a penalty turned down when Ryan Paul made a challenge inside the box, but the shout was turned down as Paul strolled away with the ball.
United coming a posts width away from taking the lead in the second half when Adam Davidson got a run on his marker at a corner and connected with a powerful header, but it cannoned off the crossbar and out for a goal kick.
Saltdean's best chance of the second half came as Andy McDowell shot from distance, but Hawkins was untroubled and the game finished goalless
