An 87th minute strike from Gianluca Del-Gaudio secured a vital three points for Eastbourne United AFC after a 3-2victory over Westfield
There were also recalls for Shaun Lee, Gianluca Del-Gaudio and Jack Divall.
United began strongly with Liam Baitup and Pete Cooper going close with half chances, but it would be the visitors who took the lead.
A long ball through the middle was headed away by an out-rushing Adam Sargent only for the ball to run to Steve Ringwood who struck the ball home into an unguarded net.
United worked hard to break down a Westfield side who boasted the leagues third best defensive record and Baitup came close to levelling but his effort was met by the fingertips of Carl Morris.
Baitup did draw United level as half time approached with a thunderous drive that left Morris with no chance.
United began the second half where they finished the first with Del-Gaudio going close after intricate play with Baitup on the right wing.
But moments later a cross from the Westfield right allowed Mike Booth to head home unmarked to give Westfield the lead again.
United rallied as just three minutes later, skipper Pete Featherstone danced past four Westfield midfielders and produced an inch perfect through ball to Del-Gaudio whose cross fell to Baitup and the striker duly scored to draw United.level.
Baitup could have had his hat-trick on 74 minutes, but both himself and Pete Cooper were denied by an instinctive double save by Morris.
The game appeared to be heading for a draw until Del-Gaudio reacted the quickest in the area following a corner to secure the three points for United
